Ok, so David and I (mostly me) didn't do things "traditionally" with Solly's sleeping arrangements. Meaning that the first time I almost cracked his head open while trying to lift him out of his bassinet at 3am was also the last time. He came to sleep with us. I know, doctors say that this is really dangerous and you know it is, but is it more dangerous than dropping your 3 week old headfirst onto the corner of a wooden desk? Me thinks not. So, he slept with us for a while. Then he slept in our room, but in a pack and play at the foot of our bed. Smart child that he is he figured out how to climb out of it and also out of his crib. Forced us to move him into a toddler bed earlier than most. But he took to that like a fish to water. Today we got a baby gate that swings open and latches shut, so I don't have to climb over a gate to pee. And we moved Solomon's bed into his very own room. He seemed pretty excited at first. But then just as bedtime hit, a lovely thunderstorm hit as well. And I'm thinking that this is going to be one long night. We plan to leave our bedroom door open, so that if he needs us we can hear him over the gazillion fans circulating the air around our house. I'm just hoping that he transitions easily. I'm sure it will be easier on him than on me...It's so hard to let them grow up, it seems like they grow up so darned fast! I'm also hoping that he doesn't get uber jealous when we bring the new baby home and the new baby starts sleeping in mommy and daddy's room (though not for as long as Solomon did) Anyway, so I'm sitting down here writing a blog while David puts the baby to sleep...and I'm really hoping it won't take forever! I'm tired! So I'm going to surf the net for useless information...Good night!
