The Reason is the debut book from author William Sirls. I
did some research about this author because he wasn’t one I’d ever heard of
before and it turns out he first got the idea for this book before going to
jail for money laundering. When lightening srikes the cross outside a church a
town doctor calls in a carpenter to help with repairs. Then strange things
begin to happen and the town wonders if the carpenter is the reason for it all.
Going into reading it I was overwhelmed with the feeling that this was a man
who knew A LOT about God’s grace and mercy. I was impressed by the depth of the
characters and I was touched by their response to God’s call. This was a book
that reminded me that there is nothing that I have to DO when I ask God for
something, just believe. Coming out of recently losing my dad to cancer I have
struggled with wondering where God was, and why He didn’t heal my dad. This
book reminded me that God always has been and always will be right beside me
and that His hand is on my life no matter the circumstances. I’m really glad
that I decided to get this complimentary copy from Thomas Nelson’s Booksneeze
program.
