Betrayal by Robin
Lee Hatcher is the second in her “Where the Heart Lives” series and I had the
privilege of reviewing it for the Booksneeze program. “A thoughtful romance
from the turn of the century, Betrayal
will take you…into the souls of two seekers learning to trust God’s love no
matter the circumstances.” It was an enjoyable and easy read, I think I
finished it in a few sittings. Betrayal is the story of Julia Grace widow and
owner of the Sage Hen ranch. She is struggling to make ends meet and run a
ranch by herself after the death of her abusive husband. She battles her
brother in law who uses any means possible to gain ownership of the ranch. She
hires Hugh Brennan a young man who spent years incarcerated for a crime he didn’t
commit. Both must struggle through their fears of being betrayed again and
learn to trust each other. Will Julia lose the ranch? Is Hugh really who he
says he is? Will Julia and Hugh learn to trust each other? Can they overcome
the ghosts of their past to move into the future? Well, you’ll just have to
read it to find out and you don’t have to read the first book to get into this
one!
