Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas tree...

When will we decorate you? The lights are wrapped throughout your bows, ornaments wait in sad repose...Yep, that's right, my poor tree (a Fraser Fir this year and a Fir-st for us) is lighted and awaiting all those lovely bulbs and decorations that make a Christmas tree festive. Somehow, I'm not motivated. I toyed with the idea of having friends over to help decorate, but no one could come. And decorating the tree alone is just not festive! Who would I drink Wassail with? I'm afraid the O'Donnell's have spoiled me for good. I just can't decorate the tree without the people I love most decorating with me, waissal hot off the stove and Christmas songs. It might take hours to decorate, but it gets done so much faster when there are several people doing it! I know, I'm such a slacker right? But, hear me out. We had to rearrange the living room for Thanksgiving and then re-rearrange it for the tree, so that our darling, curious son wouldn't tear the ornaments (that have yet to make their appearance) off or pull the tree down on himself. Which meant we had to put it in a different corner of the room, to the left of our unusable fireplace, and block it in with the couch and the loveseat. Anyway, Someday...very soon...I will decorate the tree. And then I will not feel melancholy about it all.

On to happier things; we got our tree at this wonderful little tree farm close to home. They had two teenage guys that cut it down for us, netted it and strapped it to the car for us. We bought a few ornaments, one for Solly, one or two for me and a few of those bells to put on the bottom of the tree. Tree alarm systems! (hehe) I didn't manage to take any pictures of our second tree shopping adventure, but I have lots of pictures of our first tree shopping adventure. which I will include, as well as pictures of our forlorn tree and the ornaments we got. I'm off to watch The Star of Christmas (veggietales movie) Au revoir.
