So here are the very first pictures of the new baby bump. I feel like a mad cow most of the time...just huge, especially compared to what I looked like at this stage with Solomon. But, I've heard that with the first baby you don't show as much at first and then you explode. And with the subsequent pregnancies you show a lot at first, but you don't get as big. I feel like I'm about twice the size that I was at 13 weeks when I was pregnant the first go 'round. Of course, I think that while my belly looks bigger the rest of me is staying fairly small. Hooray for that. I've also made a vow that I won't gain as much weight as I did with Solomon. So to help with that goal and to give me a little time away from being a mommy I am taking belly dancing classes. Some interesting differences between Solomon and this pregnancy: with Solly I craved steak, all the time, as well as soft serve ice cream...in fact I craved any sort of frozen dairy treat, milkshakes, smoothies, ice cream. i craved chili and pizza, and I was very into ethnic foods. This time I crave vegetables. Carrots especially and potatoes. I like broccoli, but I'm denying myself because every time I give in it ends badly, with really bad gas and heartburn and nausea. I'm still craving Ice cream, but not with the intensity that I had before. These babies really seem to like corn. Every once in a while I'll crave steak, but it usually doesn't last long. Mostly, they seem to be leaning toward chicken. As with Solomon, I am severely adverse to pork, ham and the like...so no pig for me. In fact, usually the smell is enough to send me diving for the toilet or some other available receptacle for the contents of my stomach. I discovered though that turkey bacon sits ok with me. Unfortunately for me David doesn't like turkey bacon. I'm totally hooked on Eggo Waffles and Solomon along with me. We eat them every morning for breakfast. Also, I'm really into fruit right now, dried, fresh, canned, frozen, although my fruits of choice are dried apricots and prunes (?) and fresh apples and bananas. Speaking of fruit, I will leave you to wonder why in the world I"ve told you all of this while I go and fix lunch for the munchkin and me. Au Revoir
