Well, it's been a long while since I blogged. A. Very. Long. While. I blame it solely on my philosophy class. You have no idea how long it takes to say nothing. You think I'm kidding...I'm not. I can't tell you how many readings we did in which the author (and philosopher) went on and on and on for ever and ever and ever into eternity and his point was nothing...either that or it was ridiculously stupid like," identity is based on consciousness and therefore when I fall asleep i no longer exist." Yeah. That's really one of them....That's exactly what I thought, and in fact mentioned it in class. With a completely straight face I asked the teacher if this particular philosopher was on crack. Anyway, I had papers to write about all of this ridiculousness and that took a lot of time and this was after I'd read the stupid thing 5 times and google searched it for an hour to try to understand what the heck the guy was trying to say.
I have a question of my own to the philosophical world...how does all of this sitting on your rear asking meaningless questions factor into your pocket book...I mean in this recession you can't be doing that great! ( I know I said most of them were dead....but still, it's the principle of the thing.) It should be quite obvious by now that I am not a philosopher and have no interest in pursuing it nor do I think it has a whole lot of value. I. AM. SO. GLAD. IT. IS. OVER. !!!!
In other exciting news Solly is speaking very clearly now and picking up words left and right. He says excuse me after burping and I love you and snuggle and hugs and kisses. He's learning shapes, numbers, colors and alphabet. He is a great big brother. Joe is getting huge, he "talks" to everyone and everything. He is rolling and scootching. And he's getting his first tooth. Saxon (the dog) is the dog, he's his usual hyperactive ADD self.
I am starting my first cooking classes next semester, that should be interesting. Pray that I am able to get into the pastry chef program. Other than that the house is decorated for christmas and we're just trucking along.
We just got back from spending some time with our wonderful friends the O'Donnell's Pat and Laura. We absolutely adore them and our kids did too. Joe had no trouble charming anyone with his big grins and Solly's energy just about wore us all out. It was a bit of an unusual trip for us seeing that none of Pat and Laura's kids were around and usually it's this mad, crazy mish mash of people (kind of like Anadon family reunions...maybe that's why I like it so much!) Anyway, it was a great trip, always is and I got to spend a lot of time just talking with Laura, who is always a great source of wisdom for me. She is the kind of woman who makes me want to be a better mother. I hope my kids grow up as strong and confident as hers are. And I think that's officially all there is for me to say...oh wait....no I lied.
We are going to the Chiefs/Bills game tomorrow and we were asked to bring a dessert for tailgating so David and I whipped together 2-layer brownies...peanut butter mixture on the bottom and chocolate chip brownie on top....just got finished and I just might sneak one before bed...gotta test the stuff before I feed it to someone else...it's one of Gordon Ramsey's rules!
