moving and finals and kids...oh my!

So the last few weeks have been a little...ok a lot... crazy. In fact they have been insane. Both David and I have been finishing up our classes for the semester (summer here we come!) and that means lots of study time, final papers, tests, projects...his more than mine! We also found a house that God has miraculously provided the means for us to buy! and of course there are our boys who are growing more every day.

So, we've been super busy moving into our new house and purging stuff from our old house. Studying for said tests, and chasing after the kids.

Speaking of the kids...UPDATES!!!

Solomon is speaking better and clearer. He is speaking in complete yet small sentences. He says I want...or I don't want...He also says (in response to bed time, nap time, clean up time) No, I don't want to (go to bed, or clean up as the case may be). he is still into sports, spiderman, and dinosaurs. In sports he especially loves football, basketball and baseball. He also really likes boxing. He loves to 'play' with David on our Wii and will ask for specific games by name. We give him a battery free remote and he mimics our movements. We have just started letting him actually play a few of the simpler games under very close supervision. He's a very good big brother, and tries to include Joe in just about everything he is doing. He is responding to discipline better, less tantrums and more acceptance that discipline is something he has to accept. he has also started emulating discipline, he puts his stuffed animals in time out and they get swats. If you ask him why a particular animal is in timeout he will tell you- bear was disobedient or bear hit joe joe. It is absolutely adorable when they are playing in the living room and Solomon starts down the hallway calling out,"Come on Joe-joe, let's play!" Solomon is learning to count, recognizes shapes and most colors and some letters. He is doing imaginative play where he sets up this elaborate scene with his dinosaurs and then acts something out. He sings and dances to music and can recognize most kid songs and some of the K-Love playlist by name. He has begun to have 'favorites' His favorite long sleeve shirt is the 'monkey drums' which has a monkey playing drums on it, His favorite short sleeve shirt wavers between sesame street and dinosaurs. he likes to 'read' where he grabs a book and just kind of speaks gibberish. He plays very well with other kids though he's been kind of sad, his best friend Truitt turned 3 this month and moved up to a different class at church. So we get in the car and go to church and he gets excited that he's going to get to play with Truitt, but then he doesn't get to play with Truitt. So then during the week he says,' I wanna go to Truitts house.' I think I see some play dates in my future. :)

Joe is growing up fast as well. He has begum taking 5-6 steps at a time, he balances fairly well on his feet. he is such a happy go lucky kid, very mellow. He's a very easy baby. He LOVES to eat. At any given meal he will eat a few tablespoonfuls of cut up table food as well as several ounces of mashed up food and then he nurses! He is beginning to make more sounds that sound like words like All done, and of course he has been saying momma and dadda for a while. He adores big brother and is constantly trying to keep up with him. He can crawl up the slide that is on Solly's bed. He is very resilient and calculating. If Solly starts playing too rough Joe will wait patiently for Solly to turn his back and then Wham! Joe tackles solly at the knees. Joe also enjoys the other kids at church, I think his favorite so far is either Kylie a teenage volunteer or Jubilee one of the other babies in his class. He loves to be tickled and he is a huge snuggler.

It is so crazy how fast time flies especially with kids, it seems like they are so little one minute and the next they are huge! In any case, I'll just have to enjoy it while i still can!
